Sympuro

How It Works

The magic of aquaponics, simplified.

From Fish to Food on Your Plate

Aquaponics is an ancient farming method that combines aquaculture (raising fish) with hydroponics (growing plants without soil). Here is how it works in your Sympuro.

🐟

1. The Fish Tank

It all starts with the fish. They live in a large, clean tank integrated into the base of your Sympuro. You feed them daily, just like normal pets.

♻️

2. Nutrient Production

As the fish digest their food, they produce waste. In a normal aquarium, this would become toxic, but in an aquaponics system, it's the perfect organic fertiliser.

🔬

3. Biological Conversion

Naturally occurring, beneficial bacteria live in the grow beds. They convert the fish waste (ammonia) into nitrates, which are the exact nutrients plants need to thrive.

🌱

4. Feeding the Plants

The nutrient-rich water is continuously pumped from the fish tank up into the grow beds, flooding the plant roots with organic food and water.

💧

5. Natural Filtration

As the plants absorb the nutrients, they act as a massive natural filter. They clean and purify the water as it passes through the clay growing media.

🔄

6. Clean Water Returns

The freshly purified, oxygenated water drains back down into the fish tank, creating a perfect, closed-loop ecosystem. No waste, no chemicals, just nature.

Why It's Better Than Traditional Gardening

Uses 90% Less Water

Because the water is recirculated, the only water lost is through plant transpiration and minor evaporation. Perfect for Australian conditions.

Grows 2x Faster

Plants have constant access to water and oxygen-rich nutrients, meaning they grow significantly faster than they would in soil.

No Weeding or Digging

Without soil, there are no weeds. The grow beds are elevated to waist height, saving your back from bending and digging.

100% Organic by Default

You can't use harsh chemical pesticides or fertilizers, because they would harm the fish. Your food is guaranteed clean.
